Dear Valued OSG Customer,
The global Ammonium Para Tungstate (APT) crisis continues to place extraordinary pressure on the tungsten carbide supply chain. As APT is the foundational raw material for carbide production, its sustained cost escalation has directly impacted manufacturing costs across the industry.
Despite our ongoing efforts to manage these cost increases, we continue to experience significant rising costs and regretfully are no longer able to absorb the financial impact.
As a result, we will be implementing the following pricing updates:
Standard Catalog Items
Effective May 4th, 2026, all standard catalog solid carbide cutting tools will be subject to a fixed price increase of 9.67%.
Special / Made-to-order Items
Due to extreme volatility in raw material costs, all special or made-to-order carbide tools will now require a fresh quotation at the time of inquiry.
- Each quote will reflect current APT-driven material costs.
- Quoted pricing will be valid for 5 days from the date of issue.
This approach ensures that pricing remains accurate and fair in a rapidly shifting market environment.
We recognize the challenges this global situation presents and remain committed to supporting your operations with dependable products and responsive service.
Thank you for your continued partnership and understanding.
Any orders received after 4:00 PM EST on Friday, May 1, 2026, will be invoiced at the new pricing.
An updated price list file will be made available in our portal under Resources > Downloads after April 1, 2026.
As a reminder, we offer local carbide drill and end mill regrinding services. These services can help extend tool life and reduce overall tooling costs in the current market environment.
Sincerely,
Rob Adkins
